The one-pager

A look at how this was built — and how the same bones could hold almost anything.
How it’s built
- It starts as notes — a way of seeing the game, written down over time.
- The site renders straight from those notes, so what you read is the thinking itself.
- Every idea keeps one home, linked to the rest. Nothing is said twice.
- The tools grow out of the same notes — the ideas, made playable.
- None of it came at once. It’s built a little at a time.
What that gives you
- Writing and tools that stay in step, because they share one source.
- Sorted two ways at once — by topic, and by the moment you’re in.
- It bends without breaking: a tool can get prettier, go deeper, or fit the day.
Why it exists
- To make the car ride home a little better.
- To grow the person first, and let the game stay the fun part.
- To give back to the game — and help it grow — by sharing what it teaches.
The same bones, a different name
- Underneath, none of this is really about baseball.
- It’s a shape for holding a point of view and letting people move through it.
- Swap the notes and the name, and it could be a craft, a company, a whole other game — the structure travels.
- The same bones don’t just travel. They keep evolving — each rep a step in front of the last.
What I hope this gives is structure — the game laid out clearly — so the people who care about these kids spend less time figuring it out and more of themselves on the kid. A small way of giving something back to a game that has afforded me so many opportunities — and given me so many friendships and experiences along the way.— Zack
